Three Faces: A contemplative practice in clay.

Three Faces is a month-long, studio-based journey of self-inquiry through contemplative art making. Over five Sundays, we begin with an Art & Spirit collage to open the field of images and intuition, then move into Studio Emaho!-based creative inquiries and hand-built clay mask-making to deepen and integrate what emerges.

Rather than rushing toward answers, the process invites slowness and attention. Images, materials, and sensation lead the way. Each face takes form over time, shaped by what you notice, what you feel, and what surprises you as you work. No art experience is required. Curiosity and willingness are enough.

The three faces often come to represent different dimensions of inner life. Past, present, and future. Known self, hidden self, emerging self. There is no prescribed meaning and no right interpretation. Insight reveals itself through the act of making, reflection, and sustained presence.

Each session includes guided reflection, individual making time, and optional group sharing. This is a small, supportive environment where your experience is respected, not interpreted or corrected. The studio becomes a place to listen closely to yourself and to trust what wants to be shaped and seen.

By the end of the month, you’ll have three finished clay masks and a deeper relationship with your own inner knowing. Leave with a sense of coherence and direction that arises not from trying harder, but from paying attention in a new way.

This workshop is for you if…

This workshop is for you if you’re drawn to slowing down and giving sustained attention to something that’s been quietly asking for space. If you’re curious about what can emerge when you work with your hands rather than trying to think your way to clarity, you’ll feel at home here.

It’s for you if you’re comfortable with open-ended process and interested in self-discovery that unfolds through making, reflection, and presence. You don’t need art experience or a clear outcome in mind. You do need a willingness to listen, experiment, and stay with what arises.

This workshop may not be a good fit if you’re looking for a technique-focused ceramics class, step-by-step instruction, or fast results. Three Faces values depth over efficiency and trusts that meaning reveals itself in its own time.
